
Sarah was admitted as a Solicitor in England in 1996 and in Queensland in 2002. Sarah has 30 years experience as a personal injury lawyer in Queensland and England. She has particular expertise in medical negligence claims. Sarah has acted in claims for workplace injuries, motor vehicle accidents and medical negligence. She also has also conducted many sexual harassment and sexual assault cases. Throughout her career she has been involved in numerous complex cases, including those involving very significant and catastrophic injuries.
Sarah has represented multiple children as well as adults with impaired capacity. She has also provided advice and representation at numerous Coronial Inquests.
Sarah managed Maurice Blackburn’s Medical Negligence team in QLD for 14 years before returning to England for 3 years.
Sarah is a respected expert and leader in her field and has mentored many lawyers throughout her career. She has authored multiple submissions to Parliament on various patient safety, health and medicolegal issues including appearing at a Parliamentary Inquiry into the functions of the Queensland Health Ombudsman and participating in roundtable discussions with the QLD Minister for Health regarding the investigation of stillbirths.
Sarah was awarded an Outstanding Achievement Award by the Queensland Law Society in 2015 for her contributions to the legal profession and the community, particularly in relation to women’s rights.
She was a finalist for the Queensland Law Society Social Justice Award in 2024.
Sarah speaks regularly at professional conferences on topics such as expedited claims for shortened life expectancy, extensions of the limitation period, expert reports and equity in the legal profession.
